President Donald Trump accused the Syrian Government of carrying out mass killings of thousands of prisoners and burning them to hide evidence.

Stuart Jones, Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the State Department, released newly declassified photographs showing a building near a large military prison where the execution of a thousand prisoners took place. The building of a crematorium is believed to be an effort to cover up and hide the evidence.

A report by Amnesty International says that an average of 20 to 50 people were hanged each week in Sednaya, north of Damascus. Between 5,000 and 13,000 people were executed in the military prison in 4 years. It is believed that the Syrian President has authorized the mass hanging of thousands of inmates during Syria’s six-year old civil war.
